That’s “Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you all!” in Irish, in case you’re wondering. 😉
In honor of the holiday, I thought I would share this Irish blessing with my readers:
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat.
Go raibh cóir na gaoithe i gcónaí leat.
Go dtaitní an ghrian go bog bláth ar do chlár éadain,
go dtite an bháisteach go bog mín ar do ghoirt.
Agus go gcasfar le chéile sinn arís,
go gcoinní Dia i mbois a láimhe thú.
Or, in English:
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
And if you decide to celebrate with a pint of Guinness, don’t forget to say, “Sláinte!” (SLAWN-chuh), or “cheers!”
I will actually be in the Emerald Isle itself next week. AHHH!!! So, I will try to take plenty of pictures and share my experiences when I return. Farewell for now!
