Student Quote of the Week: Owls and Chefs


One of my students, upon passing her assigned song, was trying to decide which sticker to put on the page. She finally chose one from a sheet of owl stickers I have. Now this particular owl was sitting on a tree branch, hence its legs were hidden. At least that’s how I would have viewed it, if I had bothered to notice it at all. But this student definitely noticed the lack of legs, and this was her observation of the unfortunate bird:

This owl hasn’t grown any legs yet–either that or they got chopped up into little pieces by a chef.

Hmm…apparently those are the only two options when you come across a legless owl. Now you know.
